Welcome to the Zoo

Can you believe how sweet this little girl looks? Well, I have news for you. She is a monster in sheep's clothing. A pointy-toothed, crazed, pooping, mess-making monster. Oh, she may look adorable, but her poop stinks so bad it could gag an elephant. Just what is in that special puppy food anyway? Toxic waste? I know what you're thinking. How could something so small make much of a mess? Well, believe me, she is a poop machine, and every single time she goes she manages to plant at least one furry paw in the mess and spread it all over. She suffers from terminal dingle-berries hanging from her tiny bottom, too. Poor thing has been getting daily baby-wipe baths to try and keep the stench down. This weekend she is getting a bikini-trim and I predict she will not like it, but it is necessary!
And then there is Steve, our Red-Eared Slider. Steve is a Terrapin,  or semi-aquatic turtle. Steve is a picky eater of the first magnitude. He will not eat turtle food or fresh veggies. He wants fresh meat. We decided to add a couple of aquatic frogs to the aquarium for company and he promptly ate them. He is deceptively fast and can scoot around the kitchen in no time. He spends his days floating in the water and sunbathing on his rock. He makes no noise, doesn't poop on the floor and does not have teeth, pointy or otherwise. I think I like Steve.

OMG! Your new puppy is the cutest little poop monster ever! Wow, she is adorable. Sorry, such a handful LOL I wanted to tell you we get pics of my daughters FF in Guatemala (she has been home almost 2 years) their little boy is dressed up exactly like your little Ahren. Too cute. I guess it's a Christmas tradition. I'm a dork and thought maybe they celebrated Halloween!

Love your blog...
You kids are super cute.
Check your dogs food for corn (your a mom... you can imagine how this equation works)....Corn will make your dog crap like a monster..because the dog doesn't need corn so out it goes.
Also kennel the dog anytime you are not playing with it... and as soon as you take it out...Everytime you take it out... it goes outside and you tell it "go potty"... or whatever witty thing you would like to come up with.
Those are my sage words of advice from one mom to another.

Don't know much about turtles but, having four Yorkies myself, I do know that you have to keep the hair trimmed on the bottoms. Your little one is very cute too.

Such a cute puppy!! What a great addition to your already adorable family. Puppies are a lot of work but it's so worth it. Love the turtle!!!

Your puppy is sooooo cute. I agree with Tricia and would investigate another dog food. Corn is a definite possibility but could also be wheat or chicken or .............

I don't know what's available in the world of puppy food but our dogs eat a lamb and rice food from Science Diet. Worth checking out. Do a google search on food allergies for dogs. Good luck. Elaine

JMO here but corn is not necessarily the culprit. It's a digestibility issue here. Try the more expensive vet recommended, highly-digestible brands and they'll produce less poop. Our clients are always amazed at how much poop production decreases when they change the diet. I would personally recommend Science Diet but ask your vet if you want a good recommendation. Also, don't leave food down all day. Pups are like babies, they eat, they poop. Give her scheduled feeding times and then you can learn when they will be going. Good luck!
