See the one horned buck on the left? He is very brave. He stands at the edge of the woods and when I call to him he comes forward. I get the bucket of corn and start to rattle it and he will start walking right towards me. As I throw the corn down he comes right up and starts to eat, even though I am only a few feet away. The does and fawns follow right behind but they are a bit more cautious. This is right on the edge of our driveway.
They are so adorable I just want to squeeze them to pieces!
We always have some sort of special project going on around here. This is a worm farm we built to ensure we had plenty of worms to fish with. I read some instructions in a kids magazine and that was it. Two plastic tubs, wet newspapers and a tub of worms from the bait shop and we were all set. The worms seem quite happy and so is Levi!
Levi got a frog house for his birthday and before I knew we would have so many home-grown frogs, I got him a Fire Bellied Toad from the pet store. We have had fun catching bugs for him to gobble up. Levi named him Jetson. On his underside, he is bright red with the black spots. He has been a lot of fun to watch.
Just another day in the burbs.

We did the same worm farm and my girls love checking to see how they are doing.
How fun for the kids (Levi!) to have all that nature so up close and personal! We live near a provincial park so in the winter we often have the deer come up to our neighbourhood to feed upon our trees. They are such beautiful, peaceful creatures.
Love the pet frog and can't wait to see the pics of all the new frogs to come! Levi is one lucky boy!

Love you!
Wendy,
I have to tell you those tad poles look like something else I have seen before. LOL!
The deer photos are awesome. Have you or your kids seen "Open Season" That one antler deer makes me laugh and think of that movie! Have a great week!
