Octopus, the other other white meat

Want a quick, easy, fun dinner for kids? Try Octopi (Octopus plural) Take a hotdog (turkey dogs work well), slice one end up to about 1.5 inches from the other end, slice into 6 sections (8 is correct for an octopus but tends to make the legs too thin and they break off) Drop into boiling water. The legs curl up!
Here is how they look when they are done.
Yum yum and so much fun.

great idea. I'd try it if I could stand the smell of boiling hot dogs. I get a little childhood flashbacky and get the urge to beat up my sister with some kindling. Funny, she doesn't even live with us.

We served these on a bed of seaweed (cooked spinach) at my son's pirate themed birthday party last year. The kids LOVED them and even ate the spinach, too!
