Where did my little boy go?

Levi was just a baby yesterday. I remember rocking him at night during feedings, savoring the sweet feel and smell of baby in my arms. An adorable tow-headed toddler, making everyone laugh with his silliness. Worried little boy heading for kindergarten, serious and somber, taking it all so seriously.
Those blue eyes the color of denim, his Dad's nose and eyebrows, my hair, a smattering of freckles.
My little boy is disappearing right before my eyes.

Instead a young man in emerging. Strong chin, muscles, broad shoulders, no more baby faced boy. He acts like a boy most of the time, but in some moments I see the older version of my baby. Sweet, caring, funny, handsome, very smart. So much like his father. It is amazing to watch the transformation……..but I miss my baby.

Hi Wendy! I have been reading your blog since Ahren was in Guatmala. Although, It's been a long while since I have read your blog and to log on and see this picture of Levi blew me away. He is so big and handsome. I remember in the past you believed in eye therapy for children with eye disorders. My Guatemalan son is 9 years old and has Ocularmotor apraxia syndrome. He is being tested for ADD. This scares me because I do not want my son to go on meds. I have been reading that eye therapy can help children with eye disorders and ADD. I remembered you swore by it in the past. Do you still feel the same? Thanks, Michele

Hi Michele,

Yes Vision therapy can help tremendously. In fact, the eye disorders will often lead to the same symptoms of ADD/ADHD. With the therapy, those symptoms disappear. Log onto the COVD website and search for certified vision therapy in your area.
